Dean's Office
Department of Computer Science at RPTU in Kaiserslautern

Publication of the thesis

The PhD committee determines how the thesis version to be published should look like. The committee can decide which changes should be made.

The final version must be submitted no later than one year after the viva. If not the PhD cannot be completed. In exceptional well-founded cases the dean can extend the deadline by a further year.

The final version must include a summary not exceeding one page and a special cover page. A short description of the author's CV should also be enclosed with the thesis. The cover page must include:

  • The name of the dean and the reviewers.
(If a reviewer recommended refusal of the thesis, his or her name won't be listed).
  • The date of the viva.
  • A notation «thesis approved by the Department of Computer Science of the RPTU in Kaiserslautern for the award of the Doctoral Degree Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) or Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.)».
  • The official code of the RPTU in Kaiserslautern within the library alliance "DE-386".
An example of the cover page can be found here.

The chairperson of the PhD committee must confirm that the final version fulfills all requirements.

In addition to the below listed publication, an electronic copy of the final version must be submitted. This should be sent as a PDF/A file to the e-mail address dekanat@cs.uni-kl.de.
